“Family to Family”
Education Course
The National Alliance on Mental Illness Family-to-Family Education Program is a FREE 12-week class to help family members who have loved ones who suffer from mental illness.
This course is for the relatives of persons diagnosed with major depression, schizophrenia, schizoaffective disorder, obsessive compulsive disorder, panic disorder, borderline personality disorder, or bipolar disorder (manic depressive disorder).
This course is not appropriate for persons who are suffering from a mental illness nor is it appropriate for family members younger than age 15.
The classes are
taught by trained volunteer family members
who
know
and
understand
what it is like to have a loved one with a serious mental illness.
The program, written by a family member / mental health professional, balances
education and skill training with self care, emotional support and empowerment.
These
classes fill quickly and class size will be limited, so call early to
register.
